Why I want to meet Jack Kerouac
Where do I start? I’m stalking him anyway, having read all his books, visited his house in San Francisco, his birthplace and grave in Lowell. Would love to have a drink with him.

Twin Peaks changed my life. When I was 11. Blue Velvet changed my life when I was 22. Just brilliant.
She writes such good songs, inspires me, makes poetry, is so beautiful and strong.
Just to have a chat. He’s such a great musician, I wouldn’t want to make him feel weird about meeing a fan. You know, feel his hair, check out his make up.
He is so funny and smart. My friend Brett plays me the book on CD when I’m over at his apartment and I laugh until I cry. His sister Amy is hilarious, too. I loved the 12 parts about being an artist the best.
I really enjoyed her film ‘Me and you and Everyone We Know.’ I remember when she worked on projects for K Records and she came to my college and stood in the corner of the room with headphones on and screamed. I also love her web site project, Learning to Love You More.
It started when I came across his lecture series on WFMU 91.1 FM in New Jersey when I was a teenager. Listening closely I would hang on his every word until it felt like meditation, and I could hear him drag on endless cigarettes. Later I found a book of his essays. It’s amazing how Alan Watts comes up in great conversations and with people who have become good friends. There is everything to love and absorb here.
